Hi Robyn,

I noticed it has been over a year since the SITraN building opened.

http://www.sifoundation.com/ (http://www.sifoundation.com/index.html)

Is there anyway to get an update as to what they have achieved in MND Research during this time and what we can expect from them this year?

Their latest news section is poorly updated.

Hi Matt,

We currently fund 8 projects based in Sheffield at the moment. When the building you refer to opened these projects did migrate into the new space and the progression of the projects continued as planned. They are not finished as yet so there are no updates/results to share at this time.

As for future deadlines we cannot provide exact end dates for the projects as nothing is exact. If a project has not used up all of the funding at the end of the project (ie. they have delivered below budget) there may then be an opportunity to use the extra to delve a little deeper into anything of interest that may warrent extra work or investigation.

Until the projects are completed we will not have any definite results to determin if this will or will not be the case and therefor when the actual end date will be. The above is only a brief overview of what can happen in these situations, it may not apply to the projects you refer to.

We're sorry we can't be more extact at this time but we hope this information goes some way to explaining the situation and progression in the SITraN building.

Best Regards,

Robyn

Thanks Robyn,

Added bonus is that we have a thread started for SITraN for any future announcements.

Hi Robyn,

If possible could you please detail the 8 projects in question? It would be good to know more.

Hi Matt,

I think you'll find this research info sheet useful. Start at the back as it indexes projects by institution - so you'll be able to find all of the Sheffield ones quickly. You'll then be able to see a little bit more about each project and what its aims are.

Research We Fund - Information Sheet (http://www.mndassociation.org/document.rm?id=41)

Best Regards,

Robyn
