HI
Does anyone have any recommendations on holiday venues. We live in Northampton and do not particulary want to travel too far, but would like to get a way for a long weekend and need somewhere that would cater for my husbands needs,
He can not walk or stand for too long and he is reliant on his ventilator. He also is unable to use arms/hands at all.
At home we have a clos o mat loo and a hospital bed, and a riser chair.
So we need somewhere where, this would be available. Do not mind if its hotel, B&B or self catering
I am asking for too much?

Living in hope

Hi Louise
I remember looking on the web when my mum was alive, there are hotels that have adaptations, including closomat loos etc. a key thing is looking also at the destination as with some train lines out of action you need to be sure you will arrive at the destination without having to get a bus if mobility is an issue.

If you look on the MNDA website and type hotels into the search box you will get an information sheet that has some links in it.
hope you find somewhere for a good break together

Hi Louise,

The information sheets below may be the ones Lucy is referring to.

Travel and Transport (http://www.mndassociation.org/Resources/MNDA/Life%20with%20MND/Information%20Sheet%2025%20-%20Travel%20and%20transport%20considerations.pdf)

Holiday Information (http://www.mndassociation.org/Resources/MNDA/Life%20with%20MND/Information%20Sheet%2003%20-%20Holiday%20Information.pdf)

Hope this helps.
