Hi all,

Sorry to be late on this, but tomorrow is Disabled Access Day. It's encouraging disabled people, their families and friends to visit somewhere new, whether a coffee shop, museum or cinema.

It's being given quite a lot of attention on social media, using the hashtag #AccessDay (https://twitter.com/hashtag/AccessDay?src=hash) (Twitter) and also on Facebook. (https://www.facebook.com/DisabledAccessDay?fref=ts)

You can find out more about it, including which venues are taking place, here. (http://www.disabledaccessday.com/)

If you do visit anywhere particularly good (or bad), remember to leave a review at Euan's Guide, which features disabled access reviews for venues across the UK, and is quite a useful resource:

Best wishes,

Andrew

Hi all,

The What's On list is here, including a complimentary hand crafted coffee at most Caffé Nero stores.

Thanks for the info Andrew;

I do think that a lot of simple things could be done like having slopes into shops. When the legislation first came out people acted and done what they could. Now things have gone cold leaving three inch steps into so many small shops.

Hi Terry,

That's a very good point. I think a lot of people will be going out on Disabled Access Day but not all of them will have the experience they deserve, because of things like poor access into shops.

Hopefully that's where Euan's Guide comes in - to celebrate the good and expose the bad.

Best wishes,

Andrew
