Hi all,

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on MND, has released its report on access to communication support this morning. This is a group of MPs who have worked alongside the Association to investigate the current situation.

You can read the full report, or a summary here: www.mndassociation.org/appgreport2015

Some of the headline findings include:

1 in 5 wait more than 6 weeks for a speech and language therapy appointment
39% of people wait more than 6 weeks to get the equipment they need
The NHS funds less than 50% of the equipment provided to people with MND
There is no statutory duty on the NHS in Wales or NI to fund comms equipment for people with MND

This report is being launched in Westminster today by some of our volunteers, and the Association expects to use the report findings to put pressure on MPs and NHS leadership to make the necessary changes.

Any questions about the report, please just ask.

Best wishes,

Andrew
