Hi Kelly,

There is a brief mention of this treatment in this info sheet from our research team here (http://www.mndassociation.org/search_clicks.rm?id=975&destinationtype=2&instanceid=236613)

There is only a brief mention of it in this context:

"Neurologists whose patients have chosen to undergo a non-proven treatment can be encouraged to report on their patients’ progress via the medical literature or at conferences. In the absence of clinical trials, such independent reports give at least some idea of the true effects of the treatment.

For this reason, an international group of clinician scientists, collectively known as ‘ALSUntangled’ has been forged to constructively contribute to debates regarding unproven treatments. Their findings are publically released in the reputable journal ALS.

The following treatments have already been investigated by ALSUntangled:
X-Cell centre (stem cells), Goat serum, Iplex and low dose naltrexone. All of these treatments have been identified as not having enough evidence to suggest their effectiveness."

We provide a link to the independent ALSUntangled investigation site: www.alsuntangled.com (http://alsuntangled.com/)

Their completed invistigation into Low Dose Naltrexone is here (http://informahealthcare.com/doi/pdf/10.3109/17482968.2010.544386)

I don't know if you've already found this information or not, but ALSUntangled are a reliable source of information and provide a good overview of the 'pros and cons' as well as the overall conclusion.

I hope this helps, and if anyone on the forum has any first hand experience of this drug I'm sure they'll let you know their thoughts and experiences with it.

Robyn
