Hi all,

My left hand is the weakest link at the moment and typing on my computer(s) has really suffered.

I've tried a couple of voice recognition systems, and I'm sure they'll come in handy later on, but they have definite limitations - it seems that they need a very quiet environment and can also be clunky to use, with a thousand different commands to remember...

So here's the solution I'm using at the moment - (I'm still working and use this to write long and technical reports using one finger, so it works well, assuming you have at least one finger that works okay (although you could use a stylus, your nose or any other appendage I suppose)

1. Install TeamViewer on your PC or Mac (it's free and can be downloaded here -https://www.teamviewer.com/en/
2. Install TeamViewer on your phone or tablet
3. Install Swype on your phone or tablet (if it's not already installed by default (there are alternatives, SlideIt, Swiftkey, TouchPal etc, but I use Swype) and set it to the default keyboard - http://www.swype.com/
4. Follow the easy instructions and connect your phone to your PC/Mac

You can now type very quickly on your computer using your phone's keyboard using 1 finger! Of course, for those of you who don't use a computer, I recommend you try Swype or the other similar apps to help you type on your phone.

I hope this helps someone. Feel free to post any improvements / variations you may have. :)

Thanks Kuiper;

We do need up to date technology posts as things are changing so fast. Knowing what people like us use and that it works is very important.

Hi Kiuper,

Thanks for those tips. I installed textexpander on my iPad which links with other devices but the keyboard shortcuts are like learning another language and at 64 my brain won't cope.
