I have heard that the MNDA are no longer going to supply equipment through Ability Net, is this true? If so what happens to people who currently have equipment through Ability Net?

Hi Mark,

This whole area is currently under review so I am unable to answer the question fully and have no further information at this time. We can say that our contract with Ability Net naturally came to an end before the review process and we currently have no contracts with Ability Net. If there are any servicing issues with Ability Net they will be dealt with on a case by case basis for individuals.

If there are any further enquiries do contact our financial support team (http://www.mndassociation.org/life_with_mnd/getting_support/financial_support.html)

Best Regards,

Hi Robyn,
My main concern is that the two most important pieces of equipment I have had from the MNDA are my Clos-o-mat toilet and speech software, which are no longer going to be available to MND patients, I have never been asked for any feedback from my experience with this equipment but I feel this should be done before the services are removed-these make my life possible. So how about an equipment survey before decisions are made.

We'd welcome any comments you have, Mark.

There's a survey set up for this purpose here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/financialfeedback

It's situated at the bottom of the financial support web page. As with all of our criteria, we will always consider everyone as an individual wherever this is appropriate for their individual needs. If you have any concerns we would discuss this on an individual-case basis.

I hope this helps,
