Could the ranters get back to posting on here and leave the cancer sufferers alone. I don't envy anyone of them their illness or their awareness success. It's an illness that affects so many people and must have killed far more than mnd ever will. I think we have around 6000 sufferers in the UK and I suspect far more than that are dying from cancer every year still.

That said shouldn't we take Pete's advice and worry about raising our profile and see if we can get some more research going on. It is a ridiculous state of affairs that after nearly 150 years nobody seems to know where this disease gets started or how or why. The one licensed drug seems to do little and can have damaging effects on other organs in the body. I would like everybody with the illness who wants to to be given the opportunity to trial something. You would think that of all the drugs out there something that would make a difference exists. If nobody tries we will never succeed. As long as we know it cannot make matters worse why not give them all a go. What is there to lose?

It would be far better than living in limbo waiting to see what happens next with this disease progression. Everybody is seeing either their own doctor or a specialist team or both so monitoring what happens to each isn't going to cost significant amounts of money. The saving to society of getting every MND patient off the NHS lists would be enormous.

    Rant over.

    Robert,

The wife's learning to knit perhaps i should let her give it a go and see if it resembles anything like it or will it turn into a scarf! LOL!

She saw it and said, "Have you got the pattern!"
