My Clive has left the room... :(

Haven't been here for a little while...
My hubby was taken poorly on Sat 17th November and was taken to A&E.
He passed at 5.05am Sunday 18th November 2012. He just slipped away with me stroking his hair and talking to him, holding his hand. I will be eternally grateful he wasn't distressed in any way and his breathing just faded away til it stopped.
He was very brave, refused any kind of treatment and never complained. He said he didn't want to prolong the inevitable and just a short five months after being given the diagnosis we dreaded, he went on to pastures new...
I am still reeling in disbelief at what just happened but I am glad for him, he is now free.. it's hard, and I miss him so

So sorry for your loss and hope that you have lots of support. You have some comfort in the peaceful passing but that will be small comfort at this sad time.

    Hi Red

I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of Clive's passing. My mum died on October 18th very peacefully and i felt very privileged to have been with her at the end, like you I was glad for my mum when she passed as her suffering had ended. It's incredibly hard to lose our loved ones but knowing they're are free from this awful disease is the only conciliation.

My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

    Best wishes

    Michelle

Hi Red, very new to the forum but my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine how you must be feeling - my husband was diagnosed 5 months ago and we are still coming to terms with this. I only hope that when my husband's time does come that we will be in the same position as you and Clive were, together. Will be thinking of you. Diane

So sorry to hear of your loss Red, I can't imagine how you feel, but I will add you to my prayers tonight, I know it must be a comfort to know that you were with your husband when he passed away, but it is so hard to loose the most beloved person in your life. XXX
