    Hi Alison
    We all only got one toilet so comparing the market is not good . I am third to have mnd in my family we all had close o mat and never had a problem simple to fit if your replacing an existing toilet you have to raise out let which can be small job or massive you have to run power to it and have breaker out side bathroom . All specification is on web just type close o mat and all comes up .
    So you need
    Plumber to put feed and lift soil connection
    Electrision to fit power supply
    My fitting of toilet was included in purchase price but they wanted everything perfect to plug it in

    Sorry I can not help with the closomat. Social services provided and fitted a Bio- bidet which my husband thought was wonderful. Before we decided on it he tried 3 different makes (all plumbed in) at our local Disability Living Centre. (Cheshire West). I do not know how widespread this facility is countrywide but it was very helpful about equipment etc. Unfortunately the service has been cut back because of lack of funding.

    Hi Allyson,

    Welcome,

    I have had a Gerberit installed which is very similar I think, it has been a really useful addition but I have had a couple of reliability issues with it. I was fortunate to get a grant from the MNDAssociation towards the cost as you are right they are very expensive.

    There are quite a few threads here you can search on keywords including:-

    Hi Alison;

    You could look at a "Bio Bidet 1000", it is a toilet seat that does a similar job. Also ask his OT about this as they sometimes have funding or can get funding for it. If he can press the buttons then he could go to the toilet himself and give you both some dignity back.

    Love Terry
