    Hi Pink;
    Mnd, sometimes starts in the hands and often affects one side first. I think that my thumb function was compromised early.
    It seems strange that he has a trapped nerve as well, and any muscle that is not used much will diminish. I doubt that an EMG would show a trapped nerve but I’m no expert.
    Specialists won’t commit themselves to Mnd until they are pretty sure normally. There are many other things it could be and they will try to rule them all out before hand.
    Not knowing is such an awful time, especially after a long time.
    Welcome to the forum, let’s hope that it is only temporary, Terry

    In the early days of my drop foot my GP said a trapped nerve could be my problem. Even the follow up Physiotherapist didn't think it was as severe as MND.

    Some people have it and some don't, Pete Mate.

    You can't blame me for scaring them off although I do have trouble in welcoming people with my picture. Still all change soon again.

    I was intrigued as well Pete. I concluded that if you had been here at the right time there was a lot more to Pink's post than a title and a full stop. For whatever reason the poster decided against their action and removed their post when it was edited at 16.16 but by that time Tel was in full flow with his answer and carried on and posted.
