    wheelchair accessible holidays uk

    Hi all,

Does anyone know of any affordable wheelchair accessible holidays in the uk?

I have stayed in a few so-called wheelchair accessible homes which are not really that accessible and cost a small fortune and we end up having to cut the holiday short

I found a place in Wales which looks ideal http://www.disabled-access-holidays.co.uk/ but the weekly tariff is a whopping 900 pw self catering

    All info would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Best wishes

    Jeannie

    Hi Jeannie,

I'm sure others will have their own ideas, but I remembered Jacqui Priestley mentioning on the forum the Bruce Wake Trust which was set up by a man with MND and hires out three narrow boats adapted for use with a wheelchair.

    The Trust website is here:

It's not quite a holiday house... more of a houseboat, but I thought I'd mention it while you're waiting for other peoples ideas!

    Thanks Robyn.

The boats look great if you like that kind of thing, personally I like dry land lol. Anyhow, it is fully booked and cost 700 eek

I shall keep on searching ;-) though very stressful.

I don't blame you on the dry land front, Jeannie! Good luck finding the right holiday for you. I'm sure if anyone else has had a good review from personal experience they'll let you know.

Thanks Elle, I've only just seen your post. Link works fine, I think Mike maybe fixed it if it wasn't working?

I just had a quick look at the hotel tariffs which seem reasonable 180pp All packages include dinner, bed and breakfast with live entertainment every night.

I'll have a good look at the site later, thanks again x
