    I Paps for communication and talking

    Hi BC;

    Predictable is arguably one of the best but it is quite expensive, in the region of 130. Ask your speech therapist as they might well pay for it and if not ask them to ask the Mnda.

    "Speak It" is very good as well and costs about 5 so if you need or want to try one then this might well do the job. Don't tell the speech therapist though as they might not try for anything else.

    I don't have an I Pad so my info is just what I've gleaned and might not be totally correct.

    Love Terry

    Mum started with predictable on an ipad loaned to her by her speech therapist. There wasn't anything elseoffered at the time, although shortly afterwards I understand NHS communication teams were set up to offer assistive communication. I know mum's team came to see her and fitted some equipment too late to be of assistance. It would definitely be worth starting with your speech therapist and the MNDA before forking out yourself.

    I think I Pads are well made and good quality and have some good apps.

    Quite expensive but nothing compared to a Lightwriter, which is what I use.

    Early iPads can be picked up from eBay or friends upgrading relatively cheaply. Predictable is pricey viewed one way, looked at after some research it looks fair. It's probably the best app available (IOS & Android) for the purpose which might be why SALT practitioners and other NHS AT specialist recommend it.
