    Hi Devonmaid,

I think that you can send a PM when you have posted 5 times by clicking on their name.

It might take a couple of days after your 5th post or you might be able to do that now.

    Best wishes, Terry

    Hi Sue.
I'm so sorry to read about your husband's diagnosis.
My wife was diagnosed with mnd in October, ask your doctor about a DS1500 form, our doctor did this the second week after we asked him, and pip was fast tracked, so no waiting, my wife is on the higher rate, she also gets employment and support benefit,
I've not yet looked into carers allowance as im still in full time employment, although I do take the time off for all appointments, this also might be worth looking into.
Believe me my head is still scrambled as you get so much information it's impossible to process on top of the diagnosis.
    Stay strong

    Hi Sue

Thought I had sent this info - my husband was also fastracked by the MND specialist nurses using form DS1500 applying for PIP. He got the full PIP backdated to the date we first claimed with no problems. The GP can fill in the DS1500 if you are not in contact with MND specialist nurses also. He had originally go the lower rate for mobility but after the fast track he got the higher rate which meant he qualified for motability. My husband was diagnosed in October. He had to stop driving and working in June last year due to weakness in arms, he then started having falls in June.
