I can't seem to find a number to contact them either.

Thanks for doing that Ellie. The research team have been made aware.

I gave up when I couldn't connect. Very sad because I was quite interested in what this research was all about. If anyone did attend perhaps they would share with us all.

The Sharma Lab@ UCL invitation did not mention Mindfulness. This may be of help but it is not new. It is offered in my area as part of a Mental Health drive.

The hangout that I joined was nothing about psychology or mindfulness. FutureLearn do a good course on mindfulness if any one is interested.
I wasn't sent a link for this but I am glad I got onto it. It was all about microbiomes and how they communicate via the gut with the microglia in the brain and the relationship of this with ALS. They are looking at an innovative trial of fecal microbiome transfer. They are looking to create a preventative method to stem ALS . And why not?

    Hi Ann,

That's a shame you couldn't connect to the session.

It was all about trying to change the gut microbiota to determine what, if any, difference it made to progression.

The host, Amber, is a lovely, engaging person so it may be worthwhile contacting her and explaining your connection problem and see if she'd send you info?

    Ellie x.

Sorry Ann, I'm slowly typing and having my elevenses, so I've duplicated Fru's info!!

    Hello Ellie and Fru

I was quite confused when Nunhead-Man said it was about Mindfulness! I had looked at Sharma Lab @ UCL website and it was about the relationship between the gut and the brain. Dr S is my Consultant so I was very interested. I have had an email already this morning and they are going to send me some slides to look at. If they do this kind of thing again I will be better prepared and have my family IT expert standing by to help me!
I am prepared to become involved with any new research.
    Enjoy your day!
    Ann

Thank you Ellie. I will put that date in my diary and get my best frock ready!
Perhaps we will actually get to see each other. ( Will I recognise you from your forum picture? )

    Ann
