    Angry A new challenge

    Hi all,

Following an accident on my scooter yesterday I am now wearing a fracture boot as I have broken my foot. I have tried walking with my rollator but it takes forever to move a few metres. I can venture out on my scooter but when I get anywhere I am stranded. I know I shouldn’t complain because many of you are housebound but I feel frustrated and useless.

    Best wishes,
    Barry

Poor Barry. I hope you heal quickly. I know how you like to get about and it must really grieve you to be stuck. Chin up mate.

Oh boy... what will we do with you

I hope you'll recover prior functionality in your foot. Will you get physiotherapy on the foot to rebuild strength?

i hope the muscles around the broken bone(s) aren't in spasm.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. In the meantime... L plates

    Oh Barry;

Sorry to hear you CRASHED and broken your foot. I did come off one once when it went wrong and rolled back on a steep hill. I've had a three wheel one on one rear wheel for a yard.

Hope your wife still trusts you and you don't get to much ribbing.

Hope you are soon running around.

    Love Terry

    Thanks for the good wishes.

I am now wearing a purple cast but not feeling in the pink. Confined to a wheelchair for 6 weeks and forced to cancel my holiday next month. Hopefully I will recover before our cruise at the end of May so onward and upwards.

And best wishes from me too.

Sorry to hear about your holiday and I'm sure they can get you up in a lift for your cruise if needs be

Does the purple cast signify anything?

I am so sorry to hear this. I know that on a forum like this it is easy to feel that one's own problems are much less significant than those of most others but actually that is not the case! Everything is relative. I empathise with your frustration - I can't say I understand it because I am not suffering from this terrible disease, only broken hearted for my dad who is. I am glad you have a cruise arranged soon and hope your foot is not too painful. What a complete and absolute bummer! All good wishes to you and yours. Sasha

    Sorry about your MVA.
Do you have a motorized chair?
I use a rollator indoors and alternate between a scooter and a chair outdoors.
Methinks you now need a chair.
I go on the train, London buses, to the movies etc in a chair.
We had to buy a WAV though.
