    Nippy mask straps

    Hi
Hubby sleeps with Nippy machine. He puts plasters on his face because the mask digs in. Howevver round the back of the mask the bottom strap hurts back of his head (he has shaved head), it leaves a rash. I think he has quite sensitive skin. He has to have it tight because he has a beard and cant have too much leakage. Any ideas what to use to stop this? thanks

    Hi Shrew,

I'd say the straps are a tad tight.

Mick could try a barrier cream (Get script for Cavilon) and use an ultrasoft foam dressing. My nurse gives me Kendall Hydrophilic (don't absorb moisture, so last a good while) to cushion my ankle support straps hurting my very bony feet.

    Love Ellie.

Shrew, I was thinking about Mick last night and wondered if even putting a bit of an old cotton T-shirt under the strap would provide relief on a short term basis? Just a layer or two, or it'd be too bulky.
