    Toast is easier because it crisps the outer surfaces up and cooks it, so reducing the amount of claginess.

    Bread saturated in soup or in desserts with custard normally slides down well.

    Whilst we are on breads, I quite often have a pitta toasted with hommus and green olives as a snack.

    Try brioche as well

    Itís interesting about breads - one treat I can still manage is a bacon roll. Most are ok but Greggs bread i find to be just awful and I eat the bacon only
