    On the border

    Dawyck botanical garden

    If anyone is traveling through the Scottish Borders then I can recommend a visit to these gardens. They have disabled access and a well signed wheelchair route. I did it on my scooter and in late spring the rhododendrons and azaleas are spectacular but the stand out flower is the blue poppies.

    The cafe offers homemade food and there is a gift shop.

    Best wishes,

    Nice up there Barry;

    Aren't all poppies blue?

    Goodish weather as well, enjoy.

      No, Terry, they're not all blue. There are red (as in Remembrance Day), more shades of pink than you can shake a stick at, yellow and orange, unless you're wearing really dark sunglasses, in which case they would all look brown!

        Beautiful Barry looks so tranquil and serene.

        What kind of tree is that the lavender one? It looks like a cherry blossom maybe? just lovely.

            I was going to reply to our cheeky cat but I couldn’t have bettered your post Dina.

            CC,

            The shrub is an azalea and there were many different colours or in your case colors xx

                Different garden today as I took advantage of the fine weather. The highlight of the Royal Botanical Garden in Edinburgh was again the azaleas and the blue poppies. This time I managed to buy some seeds so the challenge for my wife is to grow them because they are difficult. My scooter cut out on a steep incline but luckily a gardener was able to help me sort it out.

                  Looks absolutely gorgeous Barry, Enjoy !

                  I am not enough of an expert to talk about the colour of poppies but they look lovely.
