    urine bottles - alternatives?

    Hello all

My father uses urine bottles at the moment but is now finding his arm weakness is getting worse so this is becoming very difficult also - he doesn't like the idea of having a sheath just yet - wondering if anybody else also struggles with this issue and how you get around it?

    Thanks
    Vicky

    Hi Vicky,

It may be possible for your father to have a suprapubic catheter fitted. He would need a referral to a urologist for that. It may be that the MND nurses could arrange a referral for him. If not, your father's GP could send a referral.

    Hi vicky,

It would be good to get the sheath sorted out now even if he doesn't use it much.

I use a comfort conditioning bottle, 750 ml it has a screw top so might be difficult.

He might want to look at Tena pads for men . Expensive but if I know I’m going out for a few hours then it’s very useful
