The Gift Of Now - a poem wot i wrote

    Evening all

I wrote a poem for my wife recently, which she has been pestering me to share - and which MNDA will be publishing in Thumbprint in April. So in the hope that you might enjoy it too, please find it below.

    The Gift Of Now

    When i struggle to stand
    you uplift me,
    when i stumble
    you steady me,
    when i cry with frustration
    you cwtch me close.

    When i can't speak
    you understand me,
    when i mourn last times
    you create new memories,
when i surrender to my weakness
    you share your unwavering strength.

    when i despair
    you remind me of hope,
    when i stamp with anger
    you stamp back, harder!
when i close in on myself
you open your boundless heart to me.

When i grieve inconsolaby for a future unshared,
    a life unlived,
    a love unfulfilled
You remind me of the precious gift of now

    Love to you all,
    Sarah

Well Sarah, I'm so glad your wife's pestering worked !! Thanks for sharing it.

It's a beautiful poem which, I don't mind admitting, brought a tear to my eye... And I think all of us can identify with its essence and sentiment.

I hope you continue writing poetry (and sharing them ) you have a talent for it.

    Love Ellie.

              Just beautiful.

You're very gifted you could write musical lyrics it was so moving. It reminded me of one of my very favorite lyrical songs 'You Needed Me' by Anne Murray

Thanks so so much everyone! I honestly didn’t share it for the compliments (tho I’ll admit they’re very nice!). Feel free to use it/share with your loved ones as you wish, I’m not precious about it. I just hope it helps people in some way. Xx
