    Communication Manufactures have day shows

    Communication Matters are running a free road show which gives you the chance to meet the suppliers and see the latest communication aid equipment.

    I plan to go to one in Cambridge on the 30th June. Exhibitors there include:-

    Abilia Toby Churchill Ltd
    Ability World Ltd
    Assistive Control Ltd
    Crick Software Ltd
    Inclusive Technology Ltd
    Liberator Ltd
    Sensory Guru Ltd
    Smartbox Assistive Technology Ltd
    Techcess Ltd
    Tobii Dynavox Ltd
    Widgit Software Ltd

    Here is what they have written on the website about the day -

    Learn all about the latest developments in AAC products, direct from many of the UK's leading suppliers.

    These are product demonstration days supported and presented by our Commercial Members from the UK's leading suppliers of communication aids, equipment, software and symbol systems. Each day consists of five sessions which provide information and offer up-to-date knowledge on the range of AAC products available in the UK. There is an exhibition period when delegates can try out products (there is no opportunity for hands-on during the presentation sessions).

    These full-day events (9am to 4pm) are open to people who use AAC (16+), parents, carers and professionals alike.

    The Road Shows are free of charge to attend, but you must book a place in advance via our Roadshows Diary.

    People who have benefited from the Roadshows include:

    •People who use AAC, parents, carers and professionals new to the field of AAC and voice output technology
    •Professionals specialising in this field who want to update their knowledge (counts towards Continuing Professional Development points) – technology changes fast!
    •Everyone with an interest in communication technology
    •Anyone who works with children or adults with severe speech, language or communication difficulties and are in need of some special support with communication

    I think it could be a chance for MND people who are using AAC or going to need it to attend. They have them all over the country so there is one for most areas.

                Hi;

                I just confirmed that I'm going to the day at Cambridge on the 30th June. If you are thinking of going book before Thursday and let me know so that we can meet.

                Jan; did you manage to go to the one your way?

                Love Terry

                  Hi Terry,

                  As I have always wanted to put a face to the name I will attend the Cambridge seminar. Wear your TC outfit so I will recognise you.

                  I’m going to do this even if it kills me!

                    Are you really going Barry;

                    That will be great to meet you, I always dress that way so you will probably recognise me. If you would have said that we will meet in four years when we both joined the forum, WELL.

                    Bring me a bottle.

                      Yes I am really going Terry. I registered last night. Can't resist a free meal. I have met a few of our members over the last 4 years at various seminars but you have been noticeably absent.

                      Why do you need a bottle, is it to pee in lol?

                        Red please;

                        I tend to go to the Cambridge and Essex ones. My wife does not like to go so I try to get other people to take me.

                        This time it will be my granddad, R.

                        The big disabled shows are good to go to as well.

                        Hay, how will I recognise you, perhaps a big red rose.

                          Ditto Terry, my wife finds it boring and she wants me to be independent so whilst I'm still driving I will make the effort. I will wear a shirt that really stands out as I normally do.

                          Red it is (not the shirt but the wine) speaking of which I'm just about to pour a glass. Cheers or salute as they say here in Italy.
