Doug - There are several “synthetic “ voices to choose from - I don’t know what my own voice sounded like so am quite happy with my new one.

    Thanks Miranda.

Does it use your own banked voice or a synthetic one?

I’ve tried several and am:more than happy with Speech Assistant. It’s very userfriendly. It was made available through MNDA and”local speech therapy but it only costs £14.99 I think. Can’t fault it but yes, Matthew, you can get frustrated when people don’t wait for you to finish typing but hey ho - I’m just grateful I have a voice!!

Hi, I use predictable but as with any of them the problem is people switching off waiting for your typing. 😞

    Text to speech software

For the second time – and I hope in plenty of time – I’m trying to get my head around using a synthetic voice.

Having downloaded my voice file, I understand I now need text-to-speech software to use it through a phone or laptop. The ones most commonly used seem to be:

    Predictable
    Grid 3
    Communicator

I would be ever so grateful to hear users’ experiences with any of these, either through posts here or PMs.

    Many thanks!

    Doug
