I could not follow your instructions Streetwise;
That does not mean that they are wrong as I'm no computer guy.
What version of Windows are you running Andrewaz?
You can buy programs such as "Grid" and many other that predict and store sentences etc.
Don't know what Ellie uses.

Andrew, Word has a text to speech facility: type and select what text you wish to speak and select the Caption icon on the Word task bar and that text will be spoken.
Find out if your Word has this feature enabled by entering Text to Speech in the Tell me what you want to do box at the top of the Word page, if it's enabled, details will be shown on the right-hand top of page..
In Settings, you will have to select a voice, which has to be the same as your chosen Word language and keyboard (look on the bottom left of Word doc) so, if it shows English U.K., choose a U.K. voice. To do this, type Text to Speech in Settings then choose a voice and set the speed for delivery of speech. Slower is better.
You do not have to spend money on software if you have a compatible eye tracker - Optikey and Click2Speak are just 2 examples of software which have Text to Speech functionality, and are free to download.
A microphone is for Speech to Text.

What do you use if you were to type a letter Andrew?
If you've no package installed in which to type, you cannot convert text to a speech output.Diagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.

Hi Andrew,
I have a old program that I tried ýeàrs àgo called Staggered Speech It is very basic and not so easy to delete words etc. However you can file them away in a text document, and that should be available on your computer.
It is not really what you wanted but it does something.
I hope that you get something better.

It's not the best program, Ellie;
You can write and store files in "Notepad" which is on my window 7 and probably on Andrews windows 10.
I don't use it and can still use a couple of fingers. I think that there must be better free ones and if not maybe better to buy something.
Have you got any speech therapist that you can get info from sop you don't waste time and money.
