Hi Janet. I got a goose necked stand for my iPad from the North West Assistive Technology team. It’s fab. I also google a holder for my wheelchair which I found myself and the good old MNDA helped by paying for it. When the Assistive Technology team was out they told me that they could have provided it. They brought me an extra tube because my chair is awkward to fit one to and the extra tube made it possible. Is there an Assistive Technology team in yours area? Or if you’re in the north west ask your OT for a referral or I can give you their number. LynneALS diagnosed November 2017, limb onset. For the 4 yrs previously I was losing my balance.
I'm staying positive and taking each day as it comes.

get hold of them you will need a referral from your GP / health professional , they are also called ‘environmental controls,’ so have search on your hospital website, or they may use a neighbouring health authority, if they don’t have that dept.
They will visit you and assess all your needs and it’s free, I had a visit a couple of months ago and got some bits and bobs. And they gave advice on what other things are available. Also once you are on their list you can contact them directly if you need something,
they are also techies rather than medical which I what liked.
s.As long as there’s golf and beer I’m happy

I asked about referral when I saw mine just before Christmas and she said that she wouldn't refer until my speech had more or less gone. I'm barely intelligible now, but can usually be understood eventually. She did say that they usually respond quickly upon referral. I have a speech app on my tablet, but it's getting difficult to use as my arm gets weaker. Each day is made easier with a bit of humour.

I'm not sure anyone can type quickly enough for a conversation, as Matthew has said before. The conversation has moved on. It reminds me of the Two Ronnies sketch where one of them is asking questions and the other is answering the question before last. Each day is made easier with a bit of humour.
