    Closomat

    Hey all

does anyone have a closomat toilet which they use with a tilt in space shower chair? We had the toilet fitted but husband hasn’t been able to use it as the chair doesn’t fit over it. They are now saying they will come and do remedial works which will move the toilet further out in to the room so the shower chair goes over. Just don’t want my bathroom being half demolished and looking terrible if he still isn’t going to be able to use the closomat as intended.

If anyone can share a photo of how their set up works it would be very helpful.

    thanks

Rebecca, before you agree to remedial works, ask the OT if your husband can get a tilt in space chair which does fit over the Closomat loo - it might be cheaper than the works, whoever is paying for it.

I had a quick look and found this, no idea if it's suitable but there might be others the OT knows of.

    Best of luck.

    Love Ellie.

      Hi Ellie

yes we tried that option first but it’s definitely not possible because they have boxed in the waste pipe.

      thanks

Rebecca this is exactly the set up we're about to get put in too! Not sure how long it'll take mind you.

..I'm sure it'll make daily life a little easier

We have a Gerberit WC fitted, the shower chair does not fit over it, so OT will change it for a wider one when I need it.
I tried to post a photo but it would not let me, as I have already posted 3, what a stupid concept.

Beemer That you have posted 3 photos already shouldn't stop you from posting more (I've posted heaps more than 3)

Another member had a problem posting a photo and that issue was its file size. I don't know if you want to try reducing its size (in Paint?) and maybe saving in a different format, if it still won't post? I can help if that's the issue.

                Love Ellie.

It does not look like file size to me.
Upload failed due to your usergroup's upload quota. This file will require 2.91 MB but you only have 1.04 MB of 10.00 MB remaining.

I think that's what the other member got too. Fyi, I got it emailed to me, reduced its size it in Paint and saved it as .gif, only then would it post for me - neither .png or .jpg formats would post.

                        Hi Beemer,

I have raised this issue with MNDA support team before and they have still not resolved it. Surely the idea of this forum is to enable us with experience to be able to share photos. I accept that there is a limit but not being able to delete previous posts is a flaw in the system. Basic housekeeping in a digital world.
I’m going to do this even if it kills me!

Hi Rebecca, I have a bio bidet 1000 fitted which is great and does the intended job of washing and drying after a person uses the loo(great if you have limited movement with arms or hand cramps like I get). However, I have the same problem as now have 2 freeway shower chairs sold as compatible with the bio bidet but the shower chairs seat obscures the sensors. My OT spoke to suppliers etc and they sent instructions on how to overide the sensor. Then my hubby set about moving the actual bio bidet seat back 2 inches. So far that seems to work.I was disappointed that the shower seat is sold as compatible when it only is with adjustments made.Best wishes Mary

I will give that a go Ellie, thanks.
Still daft that we can't show photos "normally", but if that is how it is, so be it.

In fairness, posting photos does normally go to plan - I'll open a query on Admin's sub-forum to see if they can shed light on why some photos don't post. As Barry said, they never did answer his question.
