Gadgets to help with gripping a pen etc

I was looking for gadgets to help me grip pens, cutlery etc and found some useful options on the NRS website.

The first item is soft tubing that can be cut to the desired length and there are 3 different bore sizes, to fit around smaller items such as straws, pens and cutlery, and larger items such as a hairbrush:-

Finger yokes (to help with a weak pincergrip):-

WrIting bird (helps you to write without gripping a pen):-

Time for me to 'checkout' - as its getting late, and I think I've done enough shopping for now!

    Best wishes

    Hi Kayleigh,

I have the writing bird tool which is good for cards etc. but not very practical when out and about if you are asked to sign something. I use this PenAgain Ergo-Sof Ball Pen - Black from www.posturite.co.uk

I believe it is also available on Amazon.

I’m going to do this even if it kills me!

Thank you Kayleigh, you’re so knowledgable and helpful.
All great ideas. I haven’t been able to write for a while so send all my cards by Moonpig. It’s not the same. I wonder if I could use the bird.

I would love to be able to go somewhere and see and try all these products that might help.
I’ve wasted money on a few things that didn’t work for me.

        Hi Barry

Thanks for your comments about the writing bird tool.

My pincer grip isn't too bad at the moment, and so I think that the pen you recommended would be ideal for me - thanks for the recommendation.

I might purchase the 'bird' as well, for when my hands become weaker. I don't need to do a lot of writing, but like Helen (Newbie17), I would like to be able to continue writing Birthday cards etc for as long as possible.

Sometimes I do order from Moonpig (and Card Factory also have some very nice personalised cards that can be ordered online). It's handy that, these days, online shopping gives us different options for purchasing and sending cards etc - but perhaps, in my case - being a bit of a 'shopaholic' too many options!

        Love

          Hi Kayleigh,

Don’t buy the bird writer as you can have mine. I haven’t really been able to master it (may be something to do with me being left handed). Send me your address in a private message and I will post it to you.
