Sorry if I sound like a Little Miss Bossy Boots!!!, - but it would be such a shame If you go to the trouble of recording all those phrases, only to find out that when you are ready to download them the Mnda doesn't cover the cost.

Thanks, Kayleigh. I'm not too worried about it and have other things I need to concentrate on at the moment. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll pay for it myself.

That €2450 figure is from MND Scotland and also quoted on the MNDA website, so obviously the MNDA has done a deal?

If people can voice bank and want to, this is an ideal opportunity!

Well that went easy thank you for all your help. Biggest point someone made was “sooner rather than later”! Totally agree, as soon as you clime down of the ceiling from the shock of diagnosis, get this done while your voice is still strong.

          Hi everyone,

I just thought I would let you know that I have recorded my 350 sentences on Acapela and sent it to them this morning. I have already heard back to say my voice is ready. It says that I can test the voice as much as I like. I have tested it a bit this evening and it sounds OK.

I have to say that 350 sentences to record is nowhere near as daunting as the huge number Model Talk use.

Acapela doesn't have the facility to record one's own phrases and sentences. Richard Cave suggested downloading a voice recorder app and recording them into that. He said they can be incorporated into a communication device, when needed.

I have become aware that google are working to help people communicate by sharing recorded voices and using AI to help with speech. I have registered interest via this link https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...uodbte8DfkhJ2f

With the rapid advances in technology we can take hope in our future.

Hi everyone, a question about starting voice banking. I rang Mnda connect asked about voice banking they said I need a referal from a speech therapist. I don't see a speech therapist I've only seen one at the hospital during a multi group eg speech therapist, physio etc. I've left a message with my mnd nurse to see if she can arrange with a speech therapist. Good luck with getting either an appointment with a speech therapist or a phone call to sort out a referral. Lynne
