    Can’t unplug my iPad

I’m so clever in preparing for changes that I bought myself a new iPad with face recognition to help with accessing it as my dexterity diminishes. I didn’t account for the fact that facial recognition on the iPad does not accommodate the wearing of a mask, unlike facial recognition on the iPhone and I now use my NIV most of the day. But I’ll get over that!

However, the iPad also has usb type c connection in place of the usual lightning connection. The plug is a tight fit and is already proving difficult to remove. Has anybody else encountered this problem and, if so, how have you managed to overcome it?

    Hi Pete,

I don’t unplug mine and I also have stopped it from locking so I don’t have to keep signing back in.

      JamesW Hiya James,

Somebody else suggested I get an extra long lead and leave it plugged in! I used to plug my previous ipad into a battery pack to charge it while was using it but it never felt right somehow. I already live in the land of tubes and having a charging lead to trip over feels like I would be going one step too far. I just hope I can find another alternative. I did see some magnetic charging leads on t’interweb but can’t find any professional reviews of them.

Is this the sort of thing you are looking for?

I’ve never used one but the concept looks pretty straightforward 😊

Hiya James, yes that’s what i’ve been looking at. Unfortunately, none of them are made by big brand names and some of the reviews talk about overheating or about the leads causing damage to the ipad or iphone. Amazon reviews are not the most reliable and not always attributed to the correct product. That’s why I wanted to see a professional review or comparison but can’t find any at the moment.
