Afternoon all. Can I pick your brains for the best / cheapest cleaner to use on a Geberit loo. Someone I know recently had one installed and the fitter said the name of a product from Sainsbury but the lovely lady can’t remember. The stuff they left her with is very expensive.

Hi Bowler,
We have always used ordinary bathroom cleaner on ours. Geberit say that using anything other than their own extortionately expensive cleaner will damage the special coating on the toilet bowl. I don’t know how true this is but all I can say is that after 3 years we haven’t had any problems using the supermarket stuff 🤷🏻♂️

Lcfcno1fan thanks James. By supermarket stuff do you mean something like duck. As you can tell I’m really well up on the subject 😁

Guys, that mega expensive Geberit loo cleaning product is citric acid with some SLS and Decyl Glucoside thrown in - you could DIY with baby wash or use a citric acid mix, if worried about damaging the loo surface. xxDiagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.

The fitters said to use any supermarket product like toilet duck etc but not bleach. Must confess i do use bleach too as dont think anything else will do.
I havent had to use the descale yet and was hoping that something like viakal would do rather than their £80 per bottle stuff.
