    Hi Larry,

Windows 7 had quite a good system for operating the computer by speech. It was not perfect but I knew of a Mnd chap who wrote loads using it. Handy to have someone proff read it and alter bits.

our SALT has just suggested Mam using an app ‘text to speech’ which is free. I can’t find it. What is the actual name of this one recommended in this thread please? For an iPad. Thanks

Could this be it I wonder https://apps.apple.com/us/app/text-t...ch/id712104788

Your mum can try it out and if it's no use, she can ask the SLT for better ones.

Has anyone got any experience of the best apps to use now?

I cannot get on with the apps. I use a Boogie board which I find much easier in a face to face situation.

Thanks. I use an iPad so will probably start with that and research Boogie Boards.

I’ve now got my new app for iPhone or iPad - it’s called Speech Assistant and I am very happy with it.

                  Great to hear that, Miranda.

Do you have the free version or did you upgrade and customise?

As an FYI to others, it's also available for Android.
