Well done both of you. Good to hear of things going right in coping with the many challenges ahead.

Has anyone any experience of dealing with Legal & General?

I had critical illness cover with Axa and they paid out based on the diagnosis. No fight and no prognosis, MND was classified by them as a critical illness.

Anyone had issues with friends life. They are refusing to pay out.

            Hi Broxi,

No experience comparable to yours but I have had to battle with them for nearly two years to draw a pension that they should have paid in 12 weeks. A farcical bunch. I have got the ombudsman working on my behalf for compensation. They gave me £6000 compensation and I laughed and suggested they treble the amount. I will no doubt see them in court. They seem grossly incompetent.
They are amongst the contracts being investigated for unfair contracts and overcharging in the government investigation announced last week. Long overdue. They may feel vulnerable at the moment so it might be worth asking again.
Did you have a pay out on critical illness clause? Have you got the confirmation from your GP or neurologist about your terminal condition.
Ring mnda connect and see if they can advise.

            John

Has anyone had any success, getting an GP to rectify a mistake in your medical record, my gp is being stubborn about it. This mistake means my insurance company won't pay out.

I have not heard of them doing that and if there's a mistake they should rectify it. You might be able to side step and get your specialist to do it.

No fight from Friends Life for me, paid out in full just 2 weeks after getting letter from the Neurologist. First positive step in this blasted illness, I can now afford to move to one level living rather than struggle with stairs daily just to get to the loo. I cannot thank this forum and all the advice given enough; without it I would not have learned nearly enough about how to manage

Nice to hear of a company that has paid out without a fight.
