There is some recent discussion about wheelchairs and PIP benefits, so just for awareness:
I know different local authorities do things their own way, but my lot (Stroud Council) offer a "reduction on your (Council Tax) bill if you or someone in your home is ‘substantially and permanently disabled".
Some of the eligibility criteria are about how rooms are used, so I was looking up the rules for when our accessible annex is finished. However, I discovered that we can apply under this criteria right now: "sufficient floor space to permit the use of a wheelchair which is required for meeting the needs of the disabled person in the home".
May be worth looking up the Council Tax rules in your area for something similar.
They are sending an Assessor round in a couple of weeks.
I will let you know how it goes.
