That isn't an easy question to answer because some benefits are means tested.
Also, there might be other financial considerations e.g. some people are members of a company pension scheme that offers early retirement on ill-health grounds and/or there might be some financial provision under the terms of their life insurance (if they have any).

PIP isn't means tested (and can be applied for whether your partner is working or not) but some other benefits are - there are further details (including links to online Benefits Calculators) on the gov.uk website:-
