I lobbied my candidates too - the Tory replied that she was really busy and I was in a queue for a reply, but she asked for my address. Then the week before voting her agent arrived to say she was on her way - she walked right past my house!! I didn't vote for her! The labour man replied and agreed to support the MNDA if he was elected. He wasn't. (: However he was supportive of our cause so I may just follow him up. x

I worked in a private hospital for about 6 months. Hated it. If a patient needed a nom standard view in order to aid diagnosis I couldn't do it as the patient would been billed
and if an insurance scheme was involved they might not pay up. Not the way I was taught by the NHS

yeah but look back over the last 30yrs and the raft of tory privatisations. the rationale is always that the private sector somehow does it better. they promise better service at a lower cost but how often is that true?

look at the railways and the cost of a ticket compared to annual earnings then and now, the rolling stock is still 40yrs old. utilities is another example, check out british gas's last profits, how have we benefitted?

then look at social care, in our area private firms do 15 minute calls, to shower and dress! thank god i am looked after by a charity who are not for profit, ask graham how satisfied he is with his carers.

so, get ready, the nhs slowly will get carved up, bit by bit, slowly. the private sector will tendor for more and more, and guess what, they will do it cheaper because they don't care as much about people compared to profits.

About 8 years ago I had a conversation with a man who was very high up in Philips, who made our xray equipment. He KNEW that it doesn't make a blind bit of difference which party gets in as it's the civil servants and the quangos who have the remits and run the show.
Bearing in mind that this conversation took place 8 years ago: he said that the background plan was for the NHS will be in pieces in 10 years time!!
Looks like he certainly had his ear to the ground doesn't it ... and it's scary!!

I recently lobbied all election candidates in my constituency using the MNDA contact letter regarding "don't let us die without a voice". Only the Tory and Green Party candidates replied.
Make of this what you will.

    Morning John,

Politics have always puzzled me ,we listen to the sugar coated promises and go away believing they are telling the truth ,when in reality they are all very much alike wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on their A**e ,in that they fill there own pockets whatever flag they carry, when it suits they back out and very much do as they please, like you I see problems coming as I wouldn't beleive a word that any politician says . Who knows what may happen now ,just know it will be us ,,and not any of the chosen who will end up paying in many ways
    Enjoy your day
    Pete

Not quite all in but looks on track for Tory victory. What frightens me about that is their promised cuts of £12 billion in welfare benefits. They have never specified where their axe will fall. I see the need for balanced books but it seems tragic that we as a nation have voted for the savings to come in part from the most vulnerable members of our society when there are others so much able to withstand these cuts.

I hope the mnda do not take their eye of the ball and allow any reduction in the income or benefits of people suffering from Mnd .
