Hi Linda, look up on google about the motability scheme..lots of info there.In a nut shell I swapped my higher level of PIPs mobility benefit for a WAV vehicle rather than a car.It requires you have to pay a bit extra if you go for wheelchair access vehicles.( mine is one where myself and wheelchair can travel in the back) so far not required as I can transfer to passenger seat.Typical of me I was looking ahead.

I wish that I could drive into the back of my WAV and then transfer to the passenger seat Mary. There’s a hump in there middle of the front seats so not doable. But I can either transfer from my light weight wheelchair or from my powered wheelchair when it’s by the front passenger door to get into this passenger seat. Fingers crossed for a long time being a to do this because riding in the wheelchair in the back will be dreadfully uncomfortable. Lynne x
