We are getting quotes to have downstairs toilet reconfigured to incorporate a shower room . Does anyone have any recommendations on wash dry toilets as they seem very in price and don’t want to make an expensive mistake .we have seen geberit toilet , closomat and bio toilet .

Hi Peter. Like you I was disconcerted by the ridiculously high prices demanded and ended up buying two electric wash and dry bidet seats for about 25% of the complete units. One was branded Novita - shipped free from South Korea available from eBay.

if you are unfamiliar with bidet seats, the only difference is that they fit on your existing toilet pan (provided it is the correct size and shape). They have heated seats as well as all the wash/dry functions of the full (expensive ) units. Cost little to install but do need safe (conforming) electric supply.

I have the Bio Bidet. I love the functions.

One of the functions I've really needed and it worked was the enema function. I had a fissure and it was terribly painful to "go." The enema function did the trick.

I had to put in an electrical outlet next to the toilet and that cost more than the seat.

        That’s very interesting, Geoff.

May I ask if you had to pay import taxes, was there much involved in getting the electrics to UK standard and are the remote control and instructions in Korean? xx

No taxes involved. The unit itself conformed to UK standards. But - rules about electricity supplies to bathroom/toilets are very strict to prevent water and electrics meeting, ie professionally installed and certified.

The main issue is matching your existing toilet to the shape of the seat. If vou currently have a tank that sits behind the pan, you might need to make some alterations. Helpfully bidet seats come in a range of sizes and shapes - but you are buying from overseas so best to investigate before ordering. Language wasn't an issue 4 or 5 years ago when I bought. Pm if you need m.ore
