    Disabled Friendly

Contacted Wimpey Homes , Keepmoat Homes , ****** Homes, in regards to the new homes they are building across Renfrewshire , and asked if there will be any Disabled Friendly Homes being built . The reply was simple and blunt , They dont do this type of home.
Contacted my local Councillor , who says there is no legislation to enforce builders to build this type of home . The legislation only applies to businesses. The local authority and Housing associations have a long waiting list.
I find it appalling this day and age, big companies who are asking local authorities for planning permission and buying their land , are not obliged to build even 1 or 2 Disabled friendly homes per 50 or 100 homes.

    I agree Billy. Housing
for disabled people is a nightmare. Smaller things and holidays for the disabled have hugely inflated prices. We are easy prey.

Do you have the knowhow and funds to organise to build your own?

Thanks for replying Lynne , Would be too embarrassed to try and raise funds. Had tons of replies from politicians who dont know their own legislation or policy. or sit on the fence when asked to change it. just pissed off and struggling with stairs a wee bit.

        Good afternoon Billy

I have been saying precisely this to the people who are organising the housing campaign for the MNDA in that campaigning for grants to improve your house is all very well providing you have a house that is suitable to be improved.

Which we do not of course so we are having to move house.

I have a project for which I may have some money but no trustees for the charity I need to establish that support it - I am a charity hand of some long-standing including being a professional fundraiser - if you know anybody who might wish to become a trustee or anybody else on the forum might wish to put up their hand I'd be very pleased to hear from them
        Warmly

The population of the town is around 180,000
          It's a start I guess
