Thanks Barry,
another very useful piece of information. Very sorry to hear about your scooter - what sort of reprobate steals a mobility device?
All the best, Peanut

Hi Peanut,
Our forum friends have offered good advice and I would like to offer another piece. If you buy a wheelchair or scooter make sure it’s insured. My scooter was stolen from a secure garage and I suspect the thief followed my movements. Fortunately it was insured which only costs around £50 p.a.
Best wishes,
Barry

Hi Doug and Ellie,
Thanks for the useful advice - I certainly wouldn't have thought about the batteries ... I can still lurch around the house well enough, but can't walk as far as the park, say, hence the consideration of getting something motorised. Will explore storage options inside and out - maybe it's just time for a clearout to make space ...
All the best,
Peanut

Just to add - if the chair/scooter won't be used regularly, either charge its battery weekly or charge it fully then disconnect the battery because it discharges power. You don't want to discover a flat battery just as you head out 😲
I think any storage place needs to be damp free.
Love Ellie.

Hi Peanut
My Salsa2 Mini is parked at one end of a small lounge in a small house. It's much less effort to use indoors than a walker or a manual wheelchair.
Outside storage might be OK as long as it's weatherproof and secure.

Wheelchair/scooter storage
Dear all,
those of you using electric wheelchairs or scooters - how do you store your chariot? I don't need one in the house yet, but would like to use it for trips to the park and such. However, I don't have a lot of space in the house, and was thinking of getting a small shed for the back yard instead. Does that work, or should they be stored indoors only?
All the best,
