Recommendations for lightweight foldable wheel chair πŸ€”

I've been referred to the wheelchair service however I'm thinking of buying a lightweight foldable chair asap.
Preferably self propelling...light....can fold and fit in the boot of my car.
I've looked through previous threads (many) however if you do have a recommendation I would be very grateful.
    Thanks
    Linda

You're lucky. I have a manual chair but my arms are too weak to move the wheels and I can't get a power chair unless move. πŸ˜€πŸ€—πŸ˜‚πŸ˜xx

LindaB Morning. I was given an electric and manual wheelchair by the NHS. The electric one wouldn’t fit through the internal doors down stairs and the manual one was far far too heavy for my wife to push let alone fold up and put in the car. Bless them. The NHS do so many good things and then……..

Anyway the manual one went back and I bought a lightweight one called a G-Logic from Lightweight Wheelchairs. See https://www.lightweight-wheelchairs....gaAphAEALw_wcB

I find it excellent to use around the house, if folds up easily and the wheels just β€˜pop’ on and off to make it even smaller. Remember as well you don’t pay VAT.

matthew55 that's terrible I hope you move soon. Well just how long I'm able to use a self propelling one for who knows ...but I thought I'd try.
richard such a shame the NHS didn't get any of that right for you. it's irritating as a waste of time and resources. Thanks for the link I will look at that today. Oh no VAT? Good news!

Cheers both thanks for replies πŸ‘

LindaB Those G-Logic chairs are available from several retailers Linda, some are in and around the same price, others are more expensive, so shop around.

Your OT can at least provide you with a decent seat cushion for it.

And mobility products and aids, anything 'rehab' should be VAT exempt, although sometimes buying from the likes of Amazon, VAT paid, is cheaper. xx

I'm looking as well. I've seen some on Amazon with mobiquip. £299. I can see the 3 different sizes so I will have to do some measuring. What I'd like to know is the size when folded. I had a hard time car hunting and hoping my choice will accommodate a chair. 😘

It looks like a good chair and I presume you looked at the G-Logic too xx

Yes I've looked at both chairs. It's going to be folded up that will count I guess and weight so I can pick it up. Car hunting: I gave up with the wav. Looked at SUVs mainly because getting him in and out is easier. Cars are so low down that even i have problems getting out - practically climb out on my hands and knees. So from that point of view brilliant. Thing is higher the vehicle higher getting wheel chair in and out. Another thing is hes not getting in a wheelchair. Is there one that doesn't look like a wheelchair πŸ™„ pumpkin that turns into a carriage might do it 😳
