We didn’t really fancy water going everywhere in the room - over the toilet, soaking the loo paper etc. I’ve heard it’s also quite hard to tank an upstairs wet room to make it totally waterproof. That’s why we avoided the wet room option.

As an alternative to a wet room, we had our bathroom renewed with a large shower tray that’s sunk into the floor joists and a sliding glass wall shower screen. It’s a big shower, open at one end, easily capable of taking a shower wheelchair (and a carer!). Shower tray is exactly the same height as the tiled floor. Works for us.

Hello Chrissywissy ,thanks Ellie. I've tried but so far it's been demanding I resize images. There will be way to do it! But haven't found yet on my phone. Will try again tomorrow. x

Uploading photos:
This is the most straightforward way to post a photo - instructions are for using the Forum on a PC, phones are basically the same but you might need to look harder for the correct icons:
You need to be able to see the Upload Attachments button, if you can't, click the Attachment icon - I've (badly!) circled it on the photo below:
Forum photo upload (2).png
Click Upload Attachment, choose your photo and you get an option to insert various sizes, the one above is medium.
There is also an icon of a camera to click and follow the steps - as an eye gaze user, I take the quickest options 😏 xx

hi we had non/low slip tiles on the floor with fully tiled shower area and partial tiled walls elsewhere - works really well. if you have the option of underfloor heating it's worth taking.
