    Hi Ben,

Is your OT organising the hoist? Has it been confirmed that it's a ceiling hoist you need? There are also mobile hoists.

My OT has organised a ceiling hoist for me which she has told me uses acroprops so doesn't involve attaching it to the fabric of the building.

We've had a ceiling hoist installed. It looked like they drilled a couple of holes in the ceiling and supported it on the joists.
So as long as you're on the top floor it's doable without too much mess.
Regarding your landlord it may help to phone Shelter they are very knowledgeable about private landlords. My daughter has had good advice from them.
    Hope all goes well.

Hi Ben. Does your landlord know that you have MND? Good luck speaking them about a hoist. If they aren't happy with this then contact your local housing office for an urgent adapted bungalow or flat. Lynne
