    Hi Barry,

I know that the clock is ticking, and so sorry for the delay in replying, but I haven't had the time to clock my family tree until a 'Hancock's Half Hour' ago...

... and, putting it simplistically, the answer to your question is "No".

But although Galton or Simpson aren't in my family tree', my Great-Grandad's name happened to be 'Les Dawson' and his brother and nephew were 'Steptoe & Son'. LOL

One of my great Uncles, 'Citizen James', was 'The Rebel' in our family. He was 'The Junk Man' at Steptoe's Yard (next to 'Galton & Simpson's Comedy Playhouse') - but he was too 'Happy go Lucky' and kept taking 'The Day Off' to harass the 'The Tea Ladies' at the Playhouse with 'The Offer' of 'Till Death Do Us Part'. He even got 'On the Wrong Arm of the Law' when he conned them into going on a freebie holiday with him (that was really 'A Holiday with Strings').

Although I have no family connections to Galton or Simpson, perhaps my obituary might include the line "A Gal who had more than a Ton of Simple jokes, to go with her Sonny sense of humour". LOL

P.P.S and as this is a music thread ....

...but perhaps Steptoe should learn some more Steps?? - because they do seem to be a bit repetitive LOL ...

Im clocking-off for my tea-break now. But I'll be back in a timely manner - and I promise to sit On my watch (to make sure I'm On time!) LOL

P.P.P.S Looks like I might have spoken too soon! - because 'Steptoe Twinkle Toes' has already increased his repertoire of dance moves.

But I don't think he should give up his day job, to become a Judge on Strictly Come Dancing, just yet!! LOL .....

I wonder if there are any other fans of Judy Garland in our forum family?

You might think I'm a bit of trolley-dolly, who has gone off her trolley, but I've decided not to follow the yellow brick road today.

I warmly welcome everyone to join me on a nostalgic, toe-tapping trip on a trolley with joyful and jolly Judy ...

Judy Garland seems to be making a comeback lately Kayleigh

A film is out now in theaters here called Judy. Renee Zellweger is playing her and does her own singing too.

I don't think its a film I would go pay to go see, Judy was way before my time, will wait to watch it free on cable.

              Hi CC,

I've seen the trailer to the movie but whenever I see Renee Z. playing any characters, I can't get Bridget Jones out of my head! LOL.

My grandparents were great fans of Judy Garland and also, when I was a child, I enjoyed watching 'The Wizard of Oz' countless times on TV.

There were only 3 TV channels (until Channel 4 launched in 1982) and The Wizard of Oz seemed to be on TV every Christmas or Easter. Other family movies shown repeatedly were The Sound of Music (starring Julie Andrews) and Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang (starring Dick Van Dyke) ....

I hope you and your family are well. I expect you are looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving soon.

Love and best wishes to you all.

                Hey Kayleigh

I would never think to cast Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland. I enjoyed the Bridget Jones films, I'll always like the first one the best. I think Renee Zellweger did a great job with the British accent too, but even if she messed it up we American wouldn't know she did.

That's interesting we have a few of the same films shown here every year during Christmas and Easter as well, The Wizard of Oz, The Ten Commandments, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Its A Wonderful Life.

Yes our Thanksgiving is almost here, it sort of gets a little neglected because everything here is already Christmas

I agree CC, Renee's English accent was excellent ...and this is my favourite clip from Bridget Jones' Dairy:-

                    Hi Kayleigh,

Thanks for posting the biography of Galton and Simpson which I found fascinating. They worked with many iconic British actors.

                        Hi Dina,

I enjoyed that video-clip and it was fun to watch people dancing around in time to the music - they reminded me of The Lord of the Dance!! LOL ...

... and, alas, the legendary Lord soon regretted the time when he got too distracted by The Ring of Fire and the Lord of the Dance managed to out-manoeuvre him - and river-dance away his ring-fenced Lady!!:-

                            http://https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oc1Fd0BpjmM

The Lord of the Rings accused the Lord of the Dance of selling him down the river... but, perhaps, he should have agreed to The Lady's request to put a ring on it?! ...LOL....

.. but if the pitch of that performance has left you with ringing your ears, perhaps this alternative ring-tone will be more like music to them? LOL ...

And Lordie! - All that Lording-it has left me feeling a bit rung out! LOL

Another time, I'll probably ring the changes but now its time for me to ring-off and set my alarm clock for the morning.

                            Love to everyone,

After all that dancing I thought I would slow things down a bit. So, for all you romantics, how about this:

                                Hi Dina

                                I always loved that song

This is one of my very favorite all time love songs, its an oldie. I think the lyrics are beautiful, and sensual and love how the vocals and instrumentals all peak towards the end of it
