I used to look forward to my Sundays as a day of over eating and drinking, I loved full English or Sunday Roast, snacks on the bar at the local or port and cheese for pudding. Now it's the worst day of the week as no one works and no post arrives. The biggest problem with MND is the mental one not physical. 😠

Yes same here although my looking forward to Sundays was about going out with the lads on the bike and the chain gang which was a habit of long-standing going back to my racing days in my 20s and 30s.

Sitting at the dining room table reading Saturday's paper doesn't really quite mean the same

I remember Sundays when I lived with my parents. I tried to do Sunday dinner but found working all week, taking kids to and from school and all of the things I couldn't fit into my working week ended up being done at weekends. The thought of cooking a big dinner then cleaning up after was not at the top of my list. Shame really. I think as the kids got older they would rather be doing other things. I recall watching tv Sunday afternoon with my dad half asleep, recovering from a huge Sunday dinner, and watching jack hargreeves and his programme out of town. Then tea and listening to the top 30. Things are just not the same. 😐

Reading the papers this morning, watching sport on tv this afternoon and then making some cherry creme brûlée.

Cherry cream brulee sounds wonderful. I've just emptied the bins and the dishwasher. Listened to fairy tale of new York and told the BBC that the should leave the song alone. We don't think the lyrics are offensive 😐. Can't remember when we had a real newspaper 🙂 my daughter has made Christmas cake in the UK. Will we get to share it? 🤔

Hi.Well Sunday to me had always been a day of rest. As a catholic I watch the on line Mass as I did today. Then met a couple of friends in a park on this sunny day and had our socially distanced picnics. The park was alive with dog walkers and children playing on the swings or having a kick about with balls. Sorted on line Xmas shopping for pressies, read a bit. This evening I will face time a couple of friends, play rummikub with my husband followed by a nice dinner and glass of wine. We will settle down to some TV together and look at the blessings we have had today. A lovely day so far so feeling blessed. Best wishes Mary

Oh yes we should all sing along. Funny but we were talking about the programme and trying to recall his name. Some one said jack Warner but I said I thought that was Dixon of dock green.
Say what you will the country side is still, the only place that I can settle down.
Yeah it was a lovely programme. Making fishing flies I was entranced even though the whole idea of fishing was totally alien to me. Smoking his pipe. It was just so relaxed. He was just so laid back.

Denise. Do you live in the South? The only reason I ask is I thought the programme was produced by Southern TV and just shown locally. I grew up in Kent, sorry I have never grown up😂 and now live in Hertfordshire

I used to live in Stevenage. It was probably Anglia tv or something like that. Come to think of it someone who was talking about the show comes from the north west so perhaps it was national.
