    Where have you been?

Dying brings things into focus and last wishes are forefront. But that's where I am already sorted. Let me explain. In my life so far I have lived in the following countries: Saudi Arabia, England, Germany and Cyprus and counties Devon, Middlesex, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Kent, and Surrey. I have visited The Maldives, Thailand, Turkey, Dominican Republic, Antigua, New York, Boston, Miami, every European Capital, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. So you see I don't have any travel plans in my Bucket List. 😁x

Hi I’ve been quite lucky with my job, have travelled throughout Europe, holidays the normal places around the Mediterranean hot spots , a couple of cruises , Morocco , Florida and played golf in Portugal and Spain,
I would still like to go New Zealand and Scandinavia
lived mostly in Wiltshire , but also in Essex and Swansea, currently work in London ( well the spare room at the moment!)

As long as there’s golf and beer I’m happy

We have never lived abroad, haven’t particularly wanted to. We have done a fair bit of traveling and really got into cruise holidays over the last 10 years. This allowed us to visit numerous Caribbean islands, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Norwegian Fjords, Canary Islands. Visited Iceland last year with friends and that was amazing. Hoping we can continue our travels at some point. This has made me think about my Dad who never left this country, never flew in an aeroplane or sailed on a ship, I don’t think he ever thought he’d missed out.

I've never been much of a traveller. North America and a few European countries are about it, but I've seen a lot of Britain. I don't have any concerns about not being able to visit any other countries, I'll be happy if I can have another holiday in the UK sometime. I think quite a lot of people just go abroad for the weather, especially the Mediterranean resorts, and spend all week sat round the pool, but my wife and I are not keen on hot weather.
Each day is made easier with a bit of humour.

My absolute favourite is New Zealand and I would choose to live there if I was 20 years younger.

I forgot Dubai, turkey, Tunisia, France and Switzerland.
I loved the lizard, Cornwall but I do love the UK. If only the sun came out more often.

There isn't anything else on it. In fact I don't have one because there really aren't things that I wish for. 🙂x

I have always lived in the UK. We only holidayed in Wales growing up. Similarly with my own family we holidayed only in the UK and infrequently (Wales, and the North Yorkshire Coast). There’s a story there but I won’t expand as it would lower the positive tone.

In my second life (a different husband) we have been to Spain, Holland and Portugal. We’ve had lots of camping and cottage holidays in the UK (Yorkshire, Derbyshire, The Lake District, Scotland, The Hebridean Islands and Skye. All of these involved lots of walking and up mountains where they were available). We were going to explore more of the world together in our retirement but MND has largely put paid to that. But we love the UK and The Lake District in particular so will go there whenever we can. I feel no loss for having not followed the sun on package holidays. Lynne

Lynne you are so right. We've been camping all over the UK. One year after 2 weeks of terrible rain in Wales we decided to buy a caravan. We had wonderful holidays and to be honest the weather didn't always worry us. Yorkshire, north east, Scotland, lake district we went all over. Great memories.

I can recommend the Scottish Lowlands, on a sunny day you could be in Southern Spain. Plus you get the most beautiful views on the way. 👍x

Denise, great that you’ve got a caravan. I wish that we’d had a motor home but I don’t wish too much because I really enjoyed where we went and what we did. Lynne

I like the idea of a motor home. Just up and go and stay somewhere if you feel like it. I was watching a video on YouTube about heavy snow fall in the US. This guy was talking about digging out his motor home it was more like a coach! 🤔
