I don't think I could eat cooked snails or worms Ellie. France or anywhere else. Would have to be real desperate. Do you think we were wise telling everyone? We'll be getting funny looks. 🤣😃😅

Oh, I think snails are much worse than worms, Denise - you win, hands down 👍 Mind you, I have eaten cooked snails in France.

My first memory was me aged 3 and my granddad walking hand in hand down his allotment where he kept hens and 2 pigs. Granddad died the following year but it was ages before I found out.

Another early memory was when I was 5 and my father was fishing off a jetty on lake Derwent Water. He caught a pike and in my excitement to see it I rushed along the jetty but failed to stop at the end. Dad grabbed me from the lake by my hair before hauling me out.

That reminded me of being in the garden. Must have been about 3-4 and I had been sitting in my paddling pool (big bowl) and then sat on the deck chair and my mum saying I hope you didn't pee on the chair 🤤

I also remember a big black bird think it was a crow used to follow me around the garden after the silver buckles on my shoes. The dustman took him as he was so tame.

this is horrible I don't recall doing it but apparently big snails used to climb up the wall and I used to try and suck them out of their shells.

also remember getting locked in the outside loo and all the neighbours trying to get me out. And sharing it with a huge spider. 🤤

Although I've a very poor memory, I do remember being 4, in school and getting into trouble for standing up on my little chair and yelling that there was wee on the floor! The little boy next to me had wet himself.

Even then I was the shy and retiring type 😄

I must have been younger than 4. I got up early and opened the front door and stood at the bus stop. My mum was in bed. A lady took me home. Another morning I got up early let myself out and went to see if my friends would come out. I was in my pyjamas.

There are three that are really clear.

1st. Being in the nursery class ( first class ) at school. My coat peg had a picture of a red indian.
2nd. Also in the nursery class. Everyday we were made to walk up these buildings blocks to be greeted at the top by the teacher with a chuffing big spoonful of cod liver oil 🤮
3rd The huge white rocking horse at the welfare place next to school where we went to get various jabs / lumps of sugar vaccinations

    Happy days
We had a big rocking horse at the clinic ours was turquoise, always used think it was huge until I saw it again when I took my children 🥴 my earliest memory is being in the retinue of the May Queen and having a lovely dress & red sandals when I first started school when I was 4 😊

Earliest memory I was 2/3 years old and lived in my grandfathers pub, I remember wandering into the bar and swinging on a large post in the middle of the room was swiftly removed,
then when I was about 4/5, I was picked up by the police, wandering the streets apparently I had decided to visit my Nan, ended up in the police station as I wouldn’t tell them where I lived, despite only being 100 yards from our house, remember sitting on the front desk until my dad collected me
