Sat nav isn't too bad now but about 10 years ago we landed at Porto and tried to go south. We went round and round the city and it tried to get us to cross a railway bridge.

Sign posts here are confusing and a lot of villages have the same name. It's easy to get lost. Sat nav now is a great help as we have been in some places and completely surrounded by houses with very narrow roads, some just dirt tracks.

could be tourists here who have never been seen again 😊

A few years ago we were visiting an elderly aunt in Portugal. She lived about an hour north of the airport. We picked up the hire car at about 11pm at night and they put in the address for us. A few miles later we arrive at the junction for a main road/ dual carriage way which said Closed. It was pitch black but I drove for a few miles ignoring the sat nav and then thought I would now follow her directions. She took me straight back to that roundabout ! ☹️

I had no idea of the local geography but tried again and drove about 10 miles before listening to the sat nav. That time it worked

I haven't got spell check on my laptop, probably have but..., predictive text doesn't even give the opportunity to say yes or no it just changes it. If you don't go back and read it through it can be embarrassing. The other thing that gets me is if it's underlined. Like ok stupid this is wrong. So you hopefully correct it but that's wrong too. So you think of another word. Find out later that the original choice was right all along. Bit like arguing with satnav. 🤤
