As Terry mentioned, a lot of people living with MND will have a hospital-style bed which can make getting in and out and repositioning much easier. There are a variety of different types of mattresses which could also be provided. Memory foam mattresses tend to be very comfortable but can be quite difficult if someone has mobility problems. The District Nurses at Viv's GP surgery would be able to look in to providing a suitable mattress for her.
The OT would be able to provide a riser-recliner armchair. If they do not have any available then the OT could apply to the MND Association for the loan of one of our riser-recliner armchairs. There is an application form on our website that the OT can complete and send to us. It can be found here https://www.mndassociation.org/getti...-loan-for-mnd/
I hope that this is helpful. If you have any further questions then please do contact us either here, via email at [email protected] or on 0808 802 6262.
Best wishes
