    Homeopathy

Hi, I just had a letter and leaflet through the door from someone offering me homeopathic remedies for MND! She says homeopathy has no side effects and is not addictive. I know nothing about homeopathy and was immediately dismissive. Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Bern x

    Hi Bern

What are they offering you, and at what cost ?

Is it holistic treatments to help relieve some symptoms or pain for mnd or are they telling you they have a treatment/cure for mnd ?

      HI CC,

That's the worrying thing - she's retired and has no insurance so it's free.
She says there are over 3,500 homeopathic remedies but only a handful for MND which makes it easier to find the correct remedy!!

          Hi CC,

I really don't know. All she says is would I like to discuss it or give it a try. My gut reaction is No!

            Hi Bern

Yes it sounds a little strange to me too. My niece is a nurse and she studied holistic medicine because it interested her the most. There can be some symptom relief thru homeopathy methods, but you don't want her doing more harm then good.

You can always hear her out, and then send her on her way lol

Be careful, don't bring her into your home...she is stranger and you don't know what she really wants....but I'm a totally paranoid New Yorker, and I never trust anyone or anything, initially.

                Hi Bern;

My immediate thoughts are how they knew that someone in the house has Mnd. If you/she wants to try it, I would go through a recommendation from the hospice or else where.

                    Hi Bern,

MND Connect aren't back online until Monday.

Homeopathy remedy for MND?? Utter tosh - forget it, even if it's free. Don't even discuss it with the Charlatan.

                        Dear Bern,
With regards to your enquiry about homeopathy. As with any unproven treatment, we would suggest that you discuss this with your neurologist or GP, before embarking on this treatment.
In addition, it is very important to check that the person providing the alternative therapy is registered with a professional body. This helps to ensure that the therapist is suitably qualified and adheres to a strict code of conduct and standards.
For further information about unproven treatments see here
In addition you may also find the following information helpful with regards to complementary therapies - please see here.
                        I do hope this helpful.

Hi, I don't know anything at all about holistic medicine but one of the courses on FutureLearn is about Food as a Medicine and that quite interests me so I am thinking of joining that Fru X
