    Hi Rachel,

Sorry to bother you yet again but I have received an email today from a solicitor. I had a support worker funded by the DWP that was supposed to help me find sales from home during the lock down last March. When I found out that he had not done any work, I terminated his employment.

The solicitor, working for the ex-employee, has given me a huge agenda and expects me to attend a pre-hearing meeting, with the Industrial Tribunal knowledge, that I cannot possibly attend, set for next week.

Please can you speak to the Manchester Industrial Tribunal and educate them in MND.

This is typical of solicitors and I have already suffered fraud of over £20,000 because solicitors are aware that disabled people are easy targets.

    Graham

    • Hi Rachel,

      Thank you for your PM.

It is clear that the solicitor is trying to provoke me. She is quite aware that I have MND, cannot talk and bed bound. The ex-employee would have also informed the solicitor of my condition.

I have sent evidence to the Industrial Tribunal that has not been acknowledged.

ALL I REQUEST is you contact Manchester Industrial Tribunal and inform it that I cannot possibly attend the pre-hearing meeting and to please acknowledge the evidence that I have sent them.

This is prima facia disability discrimination in any event but getting anyone to accept it is impossible.

        Hi Graham,

Have you been in contact with https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/how-we-can-help

I know you are well organised and experienced due to the challenges you’ve faced over the years but this situation you are facing is immoral and the solicitor acting for your claimant is ambulance chasing.
I’m going to do this even if it kills me!

          Hi Graham

With regards to the vaccination, if I speak to your GP to try to arrange for a home visit, will someone be able to let them in?

With regards to the tribunal, it's not something that we are able to get involved with. Is your advocate involved and helping with this?

          Best Wishes

          • Hi Barry,

Thanks for the link, however I was given a deadline of tomorrow to respond to the SOLICITOR, not the Employment Tribunal, the solicitor.

It IS a cosy club, just like a 1970's Closed Shop. Of course I unleashed a furious reply to the solicitor and I fully expect her to use it against me.

It may interest you to know that the ex-employee used his house insurance for the Employment Tribunal.

I have left it with the solicitor to inform the Employment Tribunal that I won't be attending the Employment Tribunal pre-meeting, as I don't have anything to say.

Hang on is there no a video entry phone with remote unlocking capability? If not why not? And if it is why haven't MND provided Graham with one? 🤔

              • Is the British Legal System discriminatory?

I told the Employment Tribunal that I could not attend the pre-hearing meeting at 10am because my carer does not attend until midday. It is out of my hands. Yet they went ahead without me.

Yes Matt, our MNDA refused to help, as above.

                  • Hi Rachel,

I only received a single email in which I was informed that our MNDA was not able to even contact the ET to advise them of what MND is.

Am I missing some emails from you?

                    Best wishes

                      Hi Graham

As per our private messages, I explained that we are unable to get involved any legal matters as we are not qualified. I provided several links to where you might be able to get some help and advice from.

I also contacted you via private message to ask more about the solicitor that had contacted you and if they were aware that physically attending a meeting is impossible but you didn't respond.

I asked if your advocate is involved and able to contact the tribunal but you didn't respond. I attempted to contact your advocate several times about both the vaccination and the tribunal but was unable to get hold of them.

We will always try to do whatever we can to help. Unfortunately in some situations we are limited as to what we can do. In these cases we will always try to find somewhere else where the help can be found.

If you still need help with this Graham, then please do send us a private message.

                      Best Wishes

                        • Hi Rachel,

Please understand that I have MND 14+ years, was under time pressure and needed a simple phone call from a bone fide charity that recognises the impossibly of what the ET was demanding. I have used CAB twice before and the fool next time would be me.

The ET only notified me of the hearing 1 hour before the hearing! The ET let the opposing solicitor decide what time the hearing was knowing full well that I couldn't attend!!

I next will use my advocate.
